The Michigan Association Medical Staff Services, in affiliation with the National Association Medical Staff Services, is the recognized organization for the development of individuals responsible for managing, credentialing and privileging practitioners / provider organizations and regulatory compliance in the diverse healthcare industry.
Pledge to Our Membership
We, the members of the Michigan Association Medical Staff Services Board of Directors pledge to provide continuing education, a framework for professional networking, and to promote professional knowledge and skills.
We resolve to promote quality within healthcare services through the support of the medical services and/or provider networks, and to assure confidentiality of all physician and allied healthcare provider documents and activities.
We resolve to place service before material gain, to exemplify loyalty and conscientiousness, to maintain dignity in any situation and to appropriately represent the profession.
We resolve to be responsive to the needs of our customers, receptive to change, and to perform our duties in the most cost-effective manner.
Furthermore, we resolve to share knowledge, foster educational opportunities and to encourage personal and professional growth through continued self-improvement and application of current advancements in medical services and provider networks.
MAMSS History
The Michigan Association Medical Staff Services (MAMSS), an affiliate of the National Association of Medical Staff Services (NAMSS), was officially established in 1979. Bylaws were adopted and a group of four enthusiastic Medical Staff Professionals paved the beginnings of MAMSS. The first educational seminar was held in 1980 in Ann Arbor.
As healthcare continues to evolve, so does the MAMSS membership. From four dedicated individuals in 1979, the Association now has over 250 members throughout five regional chapters: Central Michigan, Mid-Michigan, Northern Michigan, Southeastern Michigan, and Western Michigan. Our members are individuals from various healthcare entities, including hospitals, health plans, group practices, and ambulatory settings.
It is only through the dedication and service of our members who have served as Presidents, Board members, and volunteers in other capacities, that MAMSS has been able to grow and remain committed to its mission. To them, we say THANK YOU.
MAMSS Mission Statement
The mission of the Michigan Association Medical Staff Services is to provide continuing education and networking opportunities and to advocate the expertise of the Medical Services Professional.
In support of the MAMSS Mission, the following goals are identified:
- Provide educational opportunities and resources.
- Educate members regarding changes in healthcare and standards recommended by regulatory and accrediting bodies.
- Promote professional relationships within the organization and with other organizations.
- Provide opportunities to meet other like professionals for the purpose of relationship building and mentoring.
